Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) is the trustee of Facing Island and is committed to environmental management of this important ecosystem.

Facing Island is home to many native species, including nesting flatback turtles. GPC undertakes regular pest management activities on the island to protect these species as well as meet General Biosecurity Obligations.

Facing Island also has numerous cultural heritage sites of Indigenous and Early European origins.

Our Environment Team is resolute in making a difference, operating under the principle that we will sustain our environments, and support and enhance the communities in which we operate.
